Ferrari History:
Ferrari was started by Enzo Ferrari. He started off as a sponsor for amateur drivers in 1929 by forming Scuderia Ferrari-literally meaning "Ferrari Stable”. He actually prepared and raced several drivers in Alfa Romeo cars until the year 1938 when Alfa Romeo decided to hire him officially as head of their racing department. However, Alfa Romeo was absorbed by the Fascist Government of Benito Mussolini in 1940 as a fraction of the ‘Axis Powers’ war effort. Enzo Ferrarisdivision was lucky to remain unaffected because it was quite small. The contract Enzo had signed prevented him from racing for four years and Scuderia Ferrari became Auto Avio Costruzioni Ferrari which apparently manufactured machine tools and aircraft accessories. With his Scuderia Enzo Ferrari Auto Course, Ferrari produced one race car, the Tipo 815 which debuted at the 1940 Mille Miglia but so little competition due to the second world war. He later moved his Ferrari factory to Maranello. His factory was heavy damaged in1944 and rebuilt in 1946 .He later embarked on production of road cars. Indeed, Ferrari introduced its first road car in 1947.It was a 125S powered by a 1.5L V12 engine. Enzo Ferrari sold his automobiles to fund his Scunderia. However, his cars were so beautiful and fast that they gained a lot reputation. Through the years, Ferrari has been famed for their magnificent styling. Finally, after years of struggling with finances, Enzo Ferrari sold the companyssports car division to the Fiat group in 1969.He wanted to ensure continued financial backing for Ferrari’s future. Ferrari granted four universities to design its next vehicle line up in 2005 and twenty winners showed their concepts in a ¼ scale model and presented their work to the board. The Fiat group currently owns 85% of Ferrari shares. Enzo Ferrari’s son own 10% and Mubadala owns 5% of Ferrari.
